However, dependent upon the season and your geographical location, we may be unable to ship at the time of your order. If an order is placed during this time, we will ship your order out just as soon as Mother Nature makes your selections available. A perennial to 5 feet, native to South America and West Indies. Hardy to Zones 7 to 12. The plant may act as an herbaceous perennial in colder zones and may be mulched to overwinter. The rhizomes and young sprouts are edible, mild tasting, tasty, high in potassium and protein. Plant prefers full sun to pat shade and deep, moist soils. It is tolerant of clay and a wide range of pH, including acidic and alkaline.
